Rights Pupils have the right to learn and work in a cheerful school. All school staff have the right to teach and help in a friendly school. Parents have a right to feel welcome and know that their children work, play and learn in a friendly school.
The basic Rights at SPS are • Everybody's right to safety (physical and mental) • All staffs right to teach and support. • Children's right to learn. • Everybody's right to be treated with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities • Put simply, the message is : • As you have the right to feel safe,YOU have a responsibility to behave so others can feel the same way too!
At SPS Everybody has : Responsibilities • We all need to take responsibility for: • Ourselves • Parents • All the school staff • Our belongings • Our school and equipment
Rules and Routines • Put simply, this means : • Rules exist in our classroom and in the playground simply to protect each others rights (work, learn, play and to be safe) at SPS.
At SPS • We have a Talking rule • We have a Learning rule • We have a Movement rule • We have a Treatment rule • We have a Problem solving rule • We have a Safety rule
Talking rule : • We speak respectfully to each other. • Routines • Hands up • Working noise • Hurtful language • Moving in the classroom and between rooms • Lining up
Learning rule • We work quietly and helpfully together .We take turns. • Routines • In the classroom and out of the class • How to get help • Co-operation
Movement rule • We walk quietly in our room and put things away carefully. • Routines • The way we move in and out of class. • Equipment in the class and out of class. • Being on time. • School trips.
Treatment rule: • We are kind to each other and use good manners. • Routines • Respect each others differences • We don’t use put downs • Manners
Problem Solving Rule • We try to solve our problems in a fair manner. If that is hard we ask an adult or our teacher for help. • Routines • Talk and listen to each other to work out what the problem is • Discuss some ways to fix it • Get help if you get stuck
Safety Rule • We try not to hurt people we use equipment safely. • Routines • Classroom and playground • Use of equipment • School trips
4 Rs Rap • We all have the right to work, play and learn, • If you stick by the rules, respect you will earn • Be responsible for yourselves and others • And have respect for your fathers and mothers • Put simply this just means
