Archipelago Chain or group of islands clustered together in a large body of water.
CHANNEL A body of water connecting two larger bodies of water.
Delta Land formed at the mouth of a river. It is formed from the silt, sand and small rocks that flow down stream in the river and are deposited in the delta.
Desert An area of little rain fall, extreme temperatures, and little vegetation.
Island Land completely surrounded by water.
Isthmus A narrow strip of land connecting two larger land masses.
MESA • A flat, elevated area with steep sides
MOUNTAIN • Tallest/Highest kind of land
MOUNTAIN RANGE • A row of Mountains
Peninsula Land surrounded by water on three sides.
REEF • A sandbar, rock or coral that lies at or near the surface of a sea or an ocean
STRAIT • A narrow channel of water connecting two larger bodies of water
Tributary • Small river or stream that flows into a larger river or lake
VALLEY • The low land located between hills or mountains
