Strategic Portfolio Review ~ EA and ITIM Select Evaluate Control • Pre-Select and the Strategic Portfolio Review (SPR) • Select – Criteria develop to ensure Alignment with EA • Control – Perform Monthly Control Reviews for select investments identified by Governance Board • Evaluate -Post Implementation Review (PIR) and ongoing monitoring to ensure successful performance
EA’s Impact on IT Investment Decisions • EA continuously drives the Select process in the formulation of HUD’s IT Portfolio • IT portfolio is moving from investments associated with system names to investments aligned to the segments within our EA • Consolidation of investments around business initiatives • Business Modernization Planning to help fully document and initiate Business and IT Investments • Chief Architect chairs and co-chairs investment and technology review boards
Next Steps for EA and ITIM • Continue to improve the Performance of HUD’s IT Portfolio • Increase business value gained through IT Investments • Continually improve the IT Investment process through ‘Qualitative’ vs. ‘Quantitative’ evaluations and reviews of IT investments
