NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS Navy Option-Academic Majors Undergraduate academic majors for NROTC Navy option midshipmen are divided into three categories or tiers: Tier 1 - engineering programs of Navy interest Tier 2 - other engineering, math and science programs Tier 3 - Foreign language and remaining academic programs Approximately 85% of Navy Option NROTC scholarships offers will be awarded to students interested in completing a Tier 1 or Tier 2 academic major. NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS CAREER OPTIONS Nurse Option- leads to post-graduation commissioning in the US Navy as an ensign (O-1) in the Navy Nursing Corps, part of the Department of the Navy Bureau of Medicine. • Earn Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) • Receive clinical hands-on training with the latest equipment. • Upon graduation, NROTC Nurse Option Midshipman are commissioned as officers in the Navy Nurse Corps.
NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS Basic Eligibility Requirements • Be a U.S. citizen • Be not less than 17 years old by September 1 of year starting college and no more than 23 on June 30 of that year • Not have reached your 27th birthday by June 30 of the year in which your graduation and commissioning are anticipated • Have, or anticipate having, a high school diploma or equivalency certificate by August 1 of the year you plan to enter the NROTC program
NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS Basic Eligibility Requirements • Have no moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms and supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic • Have no criminal record of military or civilian offenses • Not have 30 or more semester hours or 45 or more quarter hours of college credit upon application
NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS Basic Eligibility Requirements • SAT/ACT Minimum Scores: • SAT: 530 Verbal & 520 Math • ACT: 22 English & 21 Math • Competitive:1150/48 *If applicant is in the top 10% of his/her high school graduating class, the SAT/ACT test scores can be below the above stated minimum.
NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS Physical Requirements • Applicants doNOTneed to meet physical requirements to apply. • If selected for a scholarship, you must be certified medically/physically qualified for Naval service before the scholarship can be activated.
NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS Military Service Requirements Navy Option midshipmen will be required to serve a minimum of five years of active military service. Nurse Option midshipmen will be required to serve at least four years on active duty.

NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS IMMEDIATE SCHOLARSHIP RESERVATION (ISR) Allows the Navy Recruiting District Commanding Officer the ability to grant NROTC Scholarships to outstanding candidates who are qualified and highly motivated for an ISR, the NROTC Program, and commissioning in the Navy.
NROTC NAVAL RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS IMMEDIATE SCHOLARSHIP RESERVATION (ISR) Applicants must meet the following criteria in addition to the basic requirements for the Four-Year NROTC Scholarship: • SAT/ACT Minimum Scores: • SAT: 530 English & 600 Math • ACT: 22 English & 26 Math • Composite:1230/54 • Have significant involvement in school, community, or extracurricular activities. • Be in the top 20% of their high school class. (Waivers available in some cases) • Must meet Navy height and weight standards or be within body fat standards.
