  4. Why subject we are selected ? • The popularity of baseball is increasing daily. Although Our baseball team is very popular compared with 9 baseball team, our a baseball stadium is not good. so new stadium(Gwang-Ju KIA Champions Field) is constructed instead of old stadium(Mu-Deung Baseball Stadium) • we selected to this subject for using methods that we are learned.

  5. About the Project • During the semester, we investigate data about facilities, number of spectors, and various materials, and then we will analyze problem of Gwang-Ju KIA Champions Field and we will propose solution about problems. • We will use Simulation Techniques,Operations Research,and Engineering Economy Techniques in the course of investigation. • As a result we are looking for economic benefits of Gwang-ju KIA Champions Field.

  11. 01. The purpose of this title • The first purpose of our title is 'Event Seat' which are made by Gwang-Ju, no previous stadium. 'Event Seat' is made up many tables different from general seat and can try to eat a meal for fans. • The second purpose of our title is 'Parking space'. Gwang-Ju KIA Champions Field have a parking space, little. So, we also search for a problems Therefore, The first purpose : we investigated a thought of people about 'Event seat' The second purpose : we investigated a thought of people about'Parking space’ in Gwang-ju KIA Champions Field

Conclusion • Thus, In summary content.. • 30 people out of 40 people are positive about 'Event seat' Therefore, we think that they will have a many economic benefits if Gwang-ju KIA Champions Field should expand the 'Event seat‘. • Negative reasons about ‘Event seat’ are ‘a safety risk’ and ‘Waste of space’. • If they can solve this problem, they may attract many more people. • According to our survey, We think that parking space of Gwang-ju KIA Champion Field is insufficient so, Reducing a unnecessary space and extending the parking space are needed.

  24. Visiting research We visited to Gwang-ju KIA champions field at last month. We went there for the first time, so we were surprised because of many changed place such as stadium, seat, and market. After we are explored to many places, we have began to investigate Gwang-ju KIA champions field in earnest. We briefly introduce stadium.

  32. Congested traffic condition • Many cars crowded on street in that it cause traffic congestion. • This state is lasted after the game began

  33. Parking space (ground) • When we visited to Gwang-ju KIA champions field at last month, approximately 15,000 spectators are watched in stadium but parking space is too small. • This picture is ground parking spaces. Though it looks like a lot of space, parking space is not enough

Parking space (underground) • This picture is board which indicates status of underground parking space.Although the number of parking space in Gwang-ju KIA champions field is 1,000seat, There is a lack of seat. • This picture is underground parking space. Not only ground parking space • but also Underground was nearly full.

  35. Parking space (outside) As a result, people illegally parked car on the street. For that reason, it cause traffic jam.

  36. Event seat • We investigated about ‘Special seat’ such as BBQ, skybox, and family seat based on the results of the survey. Special seat was popular, as we thought. • We think that there was no problem about ‘Special seat’ and a lot of ‘Special seat’ are increased because it takes many benefits more than any general seats

  38. Conclusion • Gwang-ju KIA champions field is a very big stadium but parking spaces is too small. We will think a plan about increasing ‘Parking space’ because of illegally parking on the street. • When we visited stadium at last month, special seat is surprisingly popular and first sold than general seat. So, we will consider ways to increase ‘Special seat’.

  43. About the data How did we get the data? Korea Baseball Organization We had to call the KIA Tigers at first, but we couldn’t hear answer about number of spectators. Next when we had to call the KBO, we could be obtained about data. This data is included on KBO website.

  44. Status of the crowd First, Let’s take a look at the status of the crowd by year. This table shown from 1982 launched as a pro baseball to 2014. Number of spectators until 1997 increased continuously, but reduced the number of spectators from 1998 to 2004. We think about reduced number of spectators due to influence of IMF and 2002 World cup. Then, the number of spectators increased since the mid-2000s. Next time, we will predict number of visited crowds in this year.

  45. Status of the crowd This table is status of the crowd in April. As shown in the screen, number of spectators in Gwang-ju KIA champions field indicate fourth. We will experiment using data. First, about seat. We are investigated about seat, parking lot and traffic jam. Based on these data, we used excel function how do we make for comfortable viewing baseball game and how do we make revenue.
