The architecture of wireless sensor networks (WSN) consists of spatially distributed embedded devices, called sensor nodes, which form multi-hop mesh network and measure the parameters of interest within the application. These sensors are small, with limited processing and computing resources, and they are inexpensive compared to traditional sensors. Introduction
Precision agriculture is a new modern solution in traditional agriculture. The monitored data is used to derive the most suitable decision which can help in control and adjustment of environmental parameters for obtaining better production yield. First monitoring parameters such as temperature, humidity and illumination, as these parameters are the main factors that influence the product yield and quality. The control and management decision is based on the analysis of the monitored data. Finally, automatic or manual control mechanism is implemented to complete the required environmental control and adjustment.
Measurement parameters: temperature, humidity, pressure, light and acceleration. • Measurement data obtained from the sensor nodes are wirelessly transmitted to a central base station for data collection. The base station makes a decision according to which the nodes perform appropriate task. • Indoor measurements in Laboratory of Electrical measurement.
Measurement system consists of 6 Micaz nodes which communicate to one MIB520 USB gateway connected to the PC. The nodes consist of XM2110 radio/ processing modules with MTS400 sensor boards and are battery powered from 2 x AA batteries Sensor node placement
Experimental results • Measurement of the following parameters: • Humidity; • Temperature; • Light. • The application for monitoring and control of the environmental parameters using wireless sensor nodes is developed using Labview software.
Measurement system which is monitoring the environmental parameters measuring temperature, humidity and light is presented. Analysis and processing of collected measuring data using Labview software are presented. Graphical user interface in Labview is used for presenting the measurement results as a function of time Conclusions
