Being a resident at Tellico Village has a wide variety of perks. One perk is being close to the University of Tennessee, home of the VOL nation. Yes, VOL does stand for a season where everyone bleeds orange and finds community at tailgates and football games BUT Vol also stands for volunteer. Something our community here at Tellico Village also holds dear.

Retirement calls for many lifestyle changes and new hobbies, but what is better than a hobby that serves a larger purpose? Our community has a number of volunteer opportunities that will allow you the opportunity to do just that!
STAY: The Tellico Village community has well over 5,000 residents with many in their later years. With this, an emphasis for a neighborhood need has risen and the community has answered: STAY presents “age in place.” Through this program, neighbors help fellow neighbors stay in their homes as they age. Programs include: grocery shopping, ride sharing, home maintenance and information / educational opportunities. COPs, Citizen’s Observer Patrol: This group assists law enforcement by acting as an extra set of “eyes and ears” for Village patrol. They report suspicious behavior, potential crimes or hazards, and have even been known to do home checks for Village residents who have been away from their home for extensive periods.
TVVFD, Tellico Village Volunteer Fire Department: Under contract to Tellico Village Property Owners Association, the volunteer fire department is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation. They provide emergency medical and fire rescue service to those within Tellico Village. Made up of over 30 village volunteers, these dedicated individuals are on call 24 hours / 7 days a week. Litter Angels: A dedicated group of volunteers who commit to keeping the Tellico Parkway free of litter and debris. Keeping watch over the entire 11-mile highway, this program has been essential in Tellico Parkway being recognized as one of the cleanest highways in the county.
WATeR, Watershed Association of the Tellico Reservoir: A nonprofit and non-partisan group that supports projects and policies that work to improve the environment in and around the Tellico Reservoir. These volunteers work to spread environmental education and friendly practices through public education and demonstrations. Other organizations for volunteering include, but are not limited to: Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary, United Way, and T-BART: Tellico Boaters Assistance Response Team. Voted one of the best places to retire in Tennessee, Tellico Village is more than houses in the same neighborhood, it is a community. A true VOLunteer nation.
