6. 6 NaturalSorbAir Filtration Benefits Reduction of fire risk
A grease-free duct will not burn
Reduced labor and cleaning costs associated with maintaining vent system components
Employee Safety
Reduced roof and building maintenance
Longer roof life
Fewer messy, duct cleaning visits
From 3 or 4 per year to 1
Cleaner restaurant environment
Move grease pollution from atmosphere, roof, and wastewater systems to landfill or incinerator
7. 7 NaturalSorbAir Filtration Performance I would like you to carefully consider what you see before you.
Quite clearly one face of the Grease Protector has been exposed to greasy vapours which have collided with and adhered to the wool fibres on the upstream face.
It is equally obvious that the greasy vapours have begun to migrate or wick through the Grease Protector to it’s rear side. If however, we were to draw a paper tissue across the corner that has been turned over to reveal the back of the cloth, you will find that the rear surface is virtually free of grease. This is a remarkable result.
From the operators perspective, there are other dynamics which we will discuss later on that make it difficult to overload the Grease Protector or allow the grease to wick further towards the rear surface.
Can you imagine the beneficial effect that this degree of grease protection will have on the outcome of a fire beneath the entrance to the hood and air extract system? A clean duct will simply not support the passage of flame along an air duct because there is nothing for the flames to feed on.
When the Woolsorb Grease Protector is combined with an UL1046 compliant flame baffle,
you achieve the ultimate in fire protection – flame suppression and incredible grease protection.

10. 10 NaturalSorbAir Filtration PerformanceTypical Metal Baffle Filter (UL1046) with NaturalSorb Air Filtration
11. 11 NaturalSorbAir Filtration Performance Scene 1 - Grease sprayed onto filter.
Scene 2 - Cook top grease fire started.
Scene 3 - Fire rages. Flames impinge wool filter above fire source.
Scene 4 - Wool filter chars, smolders, and disintegrates, but does not burn.
Scene 5 - Although adjacent filters are loaded with grease, flame does not spread.
