  1. Father Kino By Nicholas Henderson and Liam Boden

  2. Birth to death • Father Kino was born in Segno /Italy in 1645. He died in 1711.

  3. The Adventure • Father Kino traveled horse back to the Colorado River, he was able to find a land route to California. During his travels he met Native American groups. Father Kino came to North America to teach the Native Americans about the Catholic Regions.

  4. The Problem • The problem or challenge, was to live peacefully with the Native Americans.

  5. What He Did That Is Special Father Kino set up churches in the southern Arizona. He began to study to become a priest. As a young man, he became very sick. He decided that if he got better, he would spend the rest of his life serving the Catholic Church. Father Kino did get better.
