weekly work sessions offered for scenario (independent study project) • Every Wednesday during the “Purpose Enrichment Class” semester is a scenario work session. No pull-out is necessary during this semester, as class time is given for independent study and project production with direct teacher guidance. • During the opposite semester, wherein the student is in Health class, “Pull-out Sessions” are offered on a flexible, rotating schedule so that students will not miss the same class more than once in a given month. Students will schedule with the Purpose Support Teacher weekly.
The 5-W’s of Scenario Selection A way of creatively determining your best choice for an engaging, exciting, fun, and educational independent project topic The5 W’s are?
WHENwill you do all • this work? • In general, every Wednesday is a Scenario Work Session day during the semester-long, 5-day-a-week Purpose Enrichment class. • During the opposite semester (when you will attend Health class 5 days a week,) you will schedule a once-a-week “Pull-out” with your Gifted Support teacher. That “Pull-out” time will serve as your Scenario Session. • It is usually not necessary (and it is not required) for you to work at home on your Scenario/Independent Project.
HOW will students accomplish this task?(Your teachers and your parents can guide you.) • 1.Choose a compelling topic which will engage and involve you for at least 6 months. • 2.Determine WHAT you want to accomplish. • 3.Set a series of connected, reachable goals (One should logically lead into the next.) • 4.WORK toward your goals through research, problem solving, experimentation, trial & error, writing, organizing, etc. • 5.ORGANIZE your information, make connections & determine conclusions, finalize your creation, product, etc.
