Section 2: Cognitive Learning No cues about the purpose of this page ? Preview window does not stand out Task flow not clear Colored bar: distracting, purpose unclear
Section 2: Cognitive Learning (Improved) Cognitive learning spectrum: moved to left, colored bar replced with check boxes
Section 3: Instructor Notes Cancel button and save button at different places Function of labels not clear

Pilot Study • Method followed • Participants • Test Measures • Number of errors • Time taken to complete the tasks
Pilot Study Results • General feedback • Like the overall look and feel of the tool • Like the preview bar • Prefer dynamic update
Lessons Learned • Solid base design vs. User’s demand • Simple is better • Difficult to satisfy all user’s choices • User generally assumes that the tool dynamically updates
Plans for last iteration • Replace the ‘Update’ and ‘Go’ button with dynamic update • Adjust metadata fields • Adjust reset button • Cognitive learning section – the box to remain checked during expansion • Ensure text gets saved during context switching
