Taking on the Spirit • Receive – idea: to make one’s own, embrace • Prayed – two fold part – aim and result
Taking on the Spirit • Fallen – seize, take control (inspire; impulse) • Received – take as one’s own, (i.e., a wife)
The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to manifest Jesus Christ in your life and service.
Manifesting Christ • The Spirit testifies of Jesus Christ • He reveals what He “sees and hears” the Father and Son doing (Jn 15:26) • Reveals what the Father has prepared for us (1 Cor 2:10)
Manifesting Christ • 1 John 3:8 – “for this purpose was the son of God manifest that he might destroy the works of the evil one.”
Manifesting Christ • I perceive [you are in] • the gall (poison) of bitterness • the bond (control) of iniquity
Manifesting Christ • Manifestation of the Spirit • Edify (build up) the church • Expose the secrets of the heart • To learn and to comfort
