OPTICAL INSTRUMENTS Any arrangement which makes use of a combination of lenses, mirrors or prisms,is called an optical instrument. All the optical instruments are based on the laws of reflection and refraction.
KINDS OF OPTICAL INSTRUMENTS • SIMPLE MICROSCOPE • COMPOUND MICROSCOPE • ASTRONOMICAL TELESCOPE • TERRESTRIAL TELESCOPE • BINOCULAR • PERISCOPE etc.
SIMPLE MICROSCOPE A simple microscope consists of a convex lens of short focal length held by means of a handle and a rim.
COMPOUND MICROSCOPE Compound microscope an instrument consisting of a combination of lenses such that the image formed by the lens or set of lenses nearest the object (called the objective) is magnified by another lens called the ocular or eyepiece.
Astronomical Telescope Telescope is used to see the heavenly bodies such as satellites , stars , planets , Astronomical, etc.
