*Call to Worship Darby Redman One: We come with great joy and awesome wonder considering the mighty works done by the God of the Universe and giving thanks for the hands and hearts who worked hard to glorify the Lord through the Sanctuary Project.
Many: We have come to sing a new song to the Lord with our lives as we celebrate and praise God for children becoming young men and women ready to commit their lives to God and join their hearts with ours as members here at New Hope.
OpeningSong • How Great Thou Art • Stuart K. Hine, 1953 • Hymnal # 77
O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
Then Sings my soul, my Savior God to thee; how great thou art, how great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee; how great thou art, how great thou art.
When through the woods and forest glades I wander, and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees; When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze.
Then Sings my soul, my Savior God to thee; how great thou art, how great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee; how great thou art, how great thou art.
And when I think that God his son not sparing, sent him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the on cross, my burden gladly bearing, he bled and died to take away my sin.
Then Sings my soul, my Savior God to thee; how great thou art, how great thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God to thee; how great thou art, how great thou art.
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow in humble adoration, and there proclaim, my God, how great thou art!
Scripture Reading Luke 4:9-12 NIV Carsten Williams
The devil led Jesus to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. 10 For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully;11 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” 12 Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA

25 Then King Darius wrote to all the nations and peoples of every language in all the earth: “May you prosper greatly! 26 I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. and forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee Words: Henry Van Dyke, 1907, alt. 1989 Music: Ludwig Van Beethoven, 1824 arr. By Edward Hodges 1864 Hymnal # 89
Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love, hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt a-way. Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!
All thy works withjoy surround thee, earth and heaven reflect thy rays, stars and angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise. Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea, chanting bird and flowing fountain, call us to rejoice in thee.
Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blest, well spring of the joy of living, ocean depth of happy rest! Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are thine, teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine.
Mortals, join the mighty chorus which the morning stars began; love divine is reigning o’er us, binding all within its span. Ever singing, march we onward, victors in the midst of strife, joyful music leads us sunward, in the triumph song of life.

9 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” 6 After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. 7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam.” So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

8 Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel…Choose a man and have him come down to me. 9 If he is able to fight and kill me, we will become your subjects; but if I overcome him and kill him, you will become our subjects and serve us.” 11 On hearing the Philistine’s words, Saul and all the Israelites were dismayed and terrified. 45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down …and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”

Here I Am, LordDan Schutte, 1981Music adopt. by Carlton Young 1988Hymnal # 593
I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry.All who dwell in dark and sin my hand will save.I who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them?Whom shall I send?
Here I am, Lord.Is it I, Lord?I have heard you calling in the night.I will go, Lord, if you lead me.I will hold your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people’s pain. I have wept for love of them. They turn away.I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for love alone.I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send?
Here I am, Lord.Is it I, Lord?I have heard you calling in the night.I will go, Lord, if you lead me.I will hold your people in my heart.
I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame, I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide Till their hearts be satisfied. I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send?
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?I have heard you calling in the night.I will go, Lord, if you lead me.I will hold your people in my heart.
Go Forth… Hearing the Call of the Lord. Go Forth… Ready to be transformed by the Holy Spirit. Go Forth … Growing in Wisdom and Knowledge- Having been Blest to be a Blessing.
