Establishing an Annual Public Image Plan What to include in your committees Annual PI Plan: • Clubs Public Image Plan should an integral part of the Clubs 3 year Strategic Plan • Support of clubs membership growth and retention plan • Support and promotion of clubs service projects • Support and promotion of clubs Fund Raisers • Process and procedure for maintaining clubs website and social media pages • Communication and education of membership – The PI Plan • Delineate accountability as well set specific measurable goals • Roll of a Rotary Public Image Committee • Unify Image and Brand Awareness • Publicize action oriented service • Promote Rotary’s core values • Emphasize Vocational Service • Promote networking opportunities and signature activities

Where to Start Where are you now? • State of your website – request copy of 2017 District 5790 Web Presence Survey • State of your Social Media pages – see 2017 District 5790 Web Presence Survey • Visit with Foundation and Membership Committee Chairs • Obtain copy of clubs annual event calendar • Identify members to serve on your committee (i.e. webmaster, newsletter, social media, media communications) • Visit Rotary.org and District 5790.org • Download Social Media Guide, Website Start-up Guide and various media communication templates • Visit Public Image and Public Relations Site page on district website – excellent step, by step tutorial • List of media contacts in District 5790

What to Include… Fitting the pieces together • Incorporate Rotary Branding resources • Logo, theme and other Downloads • Brochures, Fliers etc • Incorporate People of Action graphics and ideas • Make sure club projects promotion connect the dots with People of Action • Consistent Messaging in all media – We are leaders who act responsibly and take action to tackle our community’s and the world’s most pressing challenges • Promote fellowship, integrity, diversity, service and leadership when we publish • Integrate all the tools into your plan (website, social media, blogs etc) • Cross pollenate various media (club, near-by club, district, community sites etc. • Plan should define who to promote, what to promote, where to promote and how

The PI Plan Public Image Plan Template • Review District 5790 PI Plan • District plan mirrors Zone plan as applicable to a district public image organization • Specific Measurable Goals with periodic intermediate targets and reporting • If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it • Suggested items to include • Team member names and accountability • Media Placement Plan – specific plan centered on club events and Rotary milestone events such as World Polio day Oct 24th or Rotary Day at end of Feb • Specific Goals, timelines and dates • Dashboard feedback to Club BOD and members
