Tertiary studio: Water management • University in partnership with water management board • Student teams design scenarios for board • Case: • Climate change: more rainfall • Water buffers are needed • Will affect farming, housing and recreation uses • Multi-disciplinary teams • Fixed date for delivery for validated results for larger decision process

  6. Tertiary studio: Energy saving • University specializing in design research into household energy saving • Student teams design research possible approaches involving: • Solar energy, • Geothermic energy • Advanced process control • Multi-disciplinary teams • Fixed date for delivery for validated results for publication and use in development processes

  7. Ateliers • Teachers may develop new competencies by: • Reflection on actions and results • Planning adapted approaches • Reflection on adapted approaches • Local level: similar projects • Intermediate level: similar subject areas • Intermediate level: similar approach (design research)
