What is Scopolamine? • Derived from Hyoscyamusniger • Also known asLevo-duboisine, Hyoscineor burundaga. • Muscarinic Receptor-Blocker like Atropine, both are belladonna Alkaloids • MOA: Reversible, nonselective blockade of muscarinic receptors • What’s the difference between Atropine and Scopolamine?????

Under the drug both men denied guilt and upon trial were later found not guilty. He concluded patients under scopolamine “cannot create a lie…” (origin of the “truth serum”)
