Amnesty International Monthly Campaigns We have written letters, signed petitions, issued urgent actions, demonstrated outside courtrooms and embassies, launched hard-hitting media campaigns and lobbied officials directly.   8. What is Write for Rights? Once a year, Amnesty International asks supporters to send greetings cards with messages of support to people all around the world who have suffered human rights abuses. A card or a letter with a friendly message can give someone hope and make them feel less alone. Many letters arriving at once can also make governments and people pay attention to people being treated unfairly. That is why every card or letter you send is important. Governments have the power to help the people you’ll read about in this booklet – so let’s ask them to do something.

  12. Guidelines for Writing GUIDELINES There are TWO things YOU can do…. 1.Send a friendly solidarity message (card or creative action) 2.Write an appeal to a government. Please follow the suggestions given with each case. You can put your name and school’s address on the letter/card. Countesthorpe College, Winchester Road, Leicestershire, LE8 5PR, UK.
