Mandate / tasks • Ensure that BI systems are thoroughly tested at every start-up and following major changes to hardware/software (LS2) • Maintain regular contact with clients/suppliers in OP, CO and ABP to keep track of issues making sure they are documented using the ‘JIRA’ and eLogBook tools (by regularly passing by the CCC & participating to machine supervisor meetings etc.). • Keep BE-BI colleagues up to date by distributing short minutes of meetings where topics of relevance are discussed • Emphasis on systems that have been upgraded (change management) • Coordinate activities/tools/approaches with the other BI domain coordinators through regular BI domain coordinator team meetings

  3. People Comments? • Profile: • Person with keen interest in BI systems willing to be link-person between clients and BI experts • Domain specific experience to be acquired through on-the-job training (OP contacts) • (Some) experience with CERN control system and use of applications

What the BI group hopes to gain from our work • Improve communication with our clients (OP, ABP etc) • Avoid hiccups where BI systems are not tested prior to cold-checkout / beam commissioning • Improved documentation for what our systems are used for and where there are shortfalls (maintenance/consolidation/upgrade – R&D) • Improve documentation for hardware commissioning and check-out procedures • Introduce a coherent BI approach to commissioning and issue tracking throughout the injector complex
