  1. Satan’s Goal is to Lead God’s Children Away from Him

  3. Minimize Result of Sin • Genesis 3:4,5 “you will not surely die” • “That drug won’t hurt you.” • “What is the harm in one little sip?” • “Don’t worry about disease, think about all the fun we will be having.” • “I know it is wrong, but…”

  4. SIN IS ALWAYS WRONG • Even if we do not know better • People murdered the Son of God – just followed the crowd – Acts 3:17-19 • God will not ignore ignorance – Acts 17:23,30 • Even if we thought it was the right thing to do – Acts 23:1; 8:3; 22:4,5; 7:58,59 • He realized his true state- 1 Timothy 1:15

  5. SIN IS ALWAYS WRONG • Even if it is legal • God is the source of All Authority • A government by it decrees cannot change right and wrong – Isaiah 5:20-23 • We must obey God instead of man – Acts 5:29

  6. SIN IS ALWAYS WRONG • Even if someone respectable approves of it • Satan uses disguises – 2 Corinthians 11:14 • Must test for the truth – 1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

  7. SIN IS ALWAYS WRONG • Even if it doesn’t harm anyone • Often used to excuse sexual sins • 1 Corinthians 6:13-20 “do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's”

  8. SIN IS ALWAYS WRONG • Even if we are not caught • God sees everything – Hebrews 4:13 • Nothing is hidden from God – Psalm 139:11,12 • God even sees our secret sins – Psalm 90:7,8

  9. SIN IS ALWAYS WRONG • Even if we were trying to do good • 2 Samuel 6:1-10 • David wanted to bring the ark of God to Jerusalem, but didn’t move it properly. • He put it on a cart instead of being carried by poles on the shoulder of priests

  10. SIN IS ALWAYS WRONG • Even if someone else encouraged us • Genesis 3:12,13 – Adam & Eve Excuses • Proverbs 1:10-19 – “do not walk in the way with them, keep your foot from their path” • Don’t listen! • Sinners die in their sins!

  11. SIN IS ALWAYS WRONG • Even if we find that we cannot help ourselves • 1 Peter 4:1-5 • Isn’t this the excuse given for drinking, fornication and adultery? • Who dominates – MIND or BODY? • Can’t stop thinking about sin because we keep it ever before us!

  12. SIN IS SIN Wrong doesn’t change, but YOU CAN! Leave the life of sin behind and wash away your sins in the blood of Jesus Christ
