Is it REALLY possible to have a fulfilling marriage today?
Is it REALLY possible to have a fulfilling marriage today? YES!!! But I must follow God’s design.
God’s Design for Marriage God designed marriage to meet our need for COMPANIONSHIP. “And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18
God’s Design for Marriage God designed marriage to meet our need for COMPANIONSHIP. “Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.” Genesis 2:19
God’s Design for Marriage God designed marriage to meet our need for COMPANIONSHIP. “So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:20
Fulfilling My Role Primary role of wife = TO SUBMIT “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.” Eph. 5:22-24
Fulfilling My Role Why should I submit?
Fulfilling My Role Why should I submit? OBEDIENCE TO GOD “I can of Myself do nothing…because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.” John 5:30
Fulfilling My Role Primary role of husband = ________
Fulfilling My Role Primary role of husband = TO LOVE “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…that He might present her to Himself a glorious church…that she should be holy and without blemish. So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.” v 25-28
