In and Out of Water Some of the creatures that started leaving the seas were fish-like and had backbones and fins. Eusthenopteron was the first fish to leave the water.

Early Amphibians Ichthyostegawas one of the first amphibians. It had strong muscular legs and feet with 5 toes, however its tail was similar to that of a fish. Even though its legs were strong enough to walk on land, it spent most of the time in the water.
