Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it.Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope.

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. 7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. 9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”

The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty. 11 Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. 12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

INSTEAD, USE YOUR FREEDOM TO SERVE ONE ANOTHER IN LOVE. 14 FOR THE WHOLE LAW CAN BE SUMMED UP IN THIS ONE COMMAND: “LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”15 BUT IF YOU ARE ALWAYS BITING AND DEVOURING ONE ANOTHER, WATCH OUT! BEWARE OF DESTROYING ONE ANOTHER.

  16. GALATIANS 5:16-18(NLT) 16 SO I SAY, LET THE HOLY SPIRIT GUIDE YOUR LIVES. THEN YOU WON’T BE DOING WHAT YOUR SINFUL NATURE CRAVES. 17 THE SINFUL NATURE WANTS TO DO EVIL, WHICH IS JUST THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT THE SPIRIT WANTS. AND THE SPIRIT GIVES US DESIRES THAT ARE THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT THE SINFUL NATURE DESIRES. THESE TWO FORCES ARE CONSTANTLY FIGHTING EACH OTHER, SO YOU ARE NOT FREE TO CARRY OUT YOUR GOOD INTENTIONS. 18 BUT WHEN YOU ARE DIRECTED BY THE SPIRIT, YOU ARE NOT UNDER OBLIGATION TO THE LAW OF MOSES.

  18. GALATIANS 5:22-26 22 BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT PRODUCES THIS KIND OF FRUIT IN OUR LIVES: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, 23 GENTLENESS, AND SELF-CONTROL. THERE IS NO LAW AGAINST THESE THINGS!24 THOSE WHO BELONG TO CHRIST JESUS HAVE NAILED THE PASSIONS AND DESIRES OF THEIR SINFUL NATURE TO HIS CROSS AND CRUCIFIED THEM THERE. 25 SINCE WE ARE LIVING BY THE SPIRIT, LET US FOLLOW THE SPIRIT’S LEADING IN EVERY PART OF OUR LIVES. 26 LET US NOT BECOME CONCEITED, OR PROVOKE ONE ANOTHER, OR BE JEALOUS OF ONE ANOTHER.

  19. LEVITICUS 16:14HE SHALL TAKE SOME OF THE BLOOD OF THE BULL AND SPRINKLE IT WITH HIS FINGER ON THE MERCY SEAT ON THE EAST SIDE; AND BEFORE THE MERCY SEAT HE SHALL SPRINKLE SOME OF THE BLOOD WITH HIS FINGER SEVEN TIMES.
