Success • In 2006, sold products in over 1,300 locations in the U.S. • Supports 5,680 artisans w/ nearly 23,000 dependents • Supports 142 artist groups • Of the artists 75% are women • Has sold more than 1,000,000 handicrafts
Development Organization • Owns 5% of World of Good Inc. • Receives 10% of its sister organization’s profits • Funds health and education projects to artisan communities in South Africa • 2006, over 650 products tested by 100 groups in 29 countries using Fair Wage Guide
Turquoise Mountain Foundation • Nonprofit, nongovernmental organization • established to help revive Afghanistan’s traditional crafts and craft making and increase employment • establishes art schools • Teach how to create and sell art • Set up programs to increase the standard of living in Afghanistan
