The Translation service of the Court • “The Court shall set up a language service staffed by experts with adequate legal training and a thorough knowledge of several official languages of the European Union.” • Art. 42, Rules of Procedure The mission of the Translation service • To guarantee the equal treatment of official languages in proceedings before the 3 jurisdictions of the Union: multilingualism • The right of plaintiffs and national judges to use their own language for exchanges with the judge of the Union: access to the Court • Rapid availability of decisions in all languages: European Union case law accessible to all (equal opportunities): access to the law
