stroke. By KC Lehman. What is a stroke?. A stroke is called brain attack, because it injures the brain. A stroke attacks the brain like a heart attack attacks the heart. A stroke occurs when a part of the brain doesn’t get blood. Ischemic stroke. Ischemic stroke is the most common stroke.

What is a stroke? • A stroke is called brain attack, because it injures the brain. A stroke attacks the brain like a heart attack attacks the heart. • A stroke occurs when a part of the brain doesn’t get blood.
Ischemic stroke • Ischemic stroke is the most common stroke. • This stroke happens when blood is blocked to the brain. • This will often happen when fatty deposits clogs blood or there is a blood clot.
Hemorrhagic stroke • This stroke happens when a blood vessel in the brain bursts, and blood bleeds into the brain. • This stroke may cause aneurysm which is a thin or weak spot in an artery in the brain that can blow up into a balloon and burst.
Mini stroke • A mini stroke is called a TIA, it happens for a short time, it is a short type of ischemic stroke. • What happens is less blood goes to your brain then normal. • A mini stroke can last for a couple of minutes or up to a full day. • Some mini strokes can lead up to a full stroke.
In the family and the heart and stroke foundation • On my mom’s side of the family many of them died from stroke. My papa died at age sixty-six. • The heart and stroke foundation uses the money for research for a cure for stroke.
