Conclusions • India has mitigated 111 million ton of emissions during the past decade. • India’s present emissions are 7% below the BAU • India has shown strategic intent to participate in Kyoto Protocol • CDM regime needs to extend to infrastructure and program based initiatives • Early signal about post-Kyoto mitigation regime are critical for strategic shift in baseline emissions • India continues to meaningfully participate in the Global Climate Change Mitigation Regime
