Our Objectives • Creating an atmosphere of IT awareness among the UAE high school students • خلق بيئة توعية لتقنية المعلومات بين طلاب مدارس الدولة • Challenge the students in wide range of IT area topics, both in background knowledge and practical IT innovations • تحفيز الطلاب على الابداع في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات في شتى المجالات و التطبيقات • Give students the opportunity to meet and greet with experts in the area of Information Technology • اعطاء الطلاب فرص الالتقاء بخبراء في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات للاستفادة القصوى

Registration Rules • The competition is open for all schools in the UAE • المسابقة مفتوحة لكل الطلاب في الدولة • Maximum 1 team per category • الحد الاقصى للفرق المشاركة للمدرسة الواحدة هو فريق لكل فئة • Teams must be accompanied by a school teacher • لابد من حضور المرشد (مدرس الحاسوب) للفريق المشارك • The registration is free • التسجيل اجباري و مجاني

Registration Rules • Registration is currently open • التسجيل حاليا مفتوح • The registration will be closed after the first 100 teams are registered • سوف يغلق التسجيل ريثما يسجل اول 100 فريق • Registration will be closed permanently April 11, 2013 • سوف يتم غلق التسجيل نهائيا في 11 ابريل 2013

Whatis Scratch? • New programming language • Used to create interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art while sharing them on the Web • Designed for young people (ages 8 and up) • IT4Kids is an opportunity to develop: • Programming logic • Imagination • Interactive Games • Stories and Animations • Simulations, and • Other types of dynamic, interactive media

Any project that has a something to do with the Environment, Education (e.g., educational game), Science, Health, or UAE culture (Desert, Camels, etc.) will be highly considered اي مشروع من صميم تخيل وابداع الطفل في مجال التعليم او التربية او البيئة او الثقافة او الصحة الخ

  13. IT Showcase The Showcase is an opportunity to exhibit your projects in: • Web design • Programming • Graphic Design • System Design • Technology related projects • تصميم المواقع • البرمجة • تصميم المخططات • تصميم الانظمة • اي مشاريع اخرى

IT Showcase: The Event • Competitors will exhibit posters and demonstrations • يجب على المتسابقين عرض المشاريع من خلال ملصقات و تنفيذ المشروع اما اللجان • Present their work to judges* in interactive sessions • تقوم الفرق بعرض المشاريع امام الحكام بصورة تفاعلية حية • Top 3 teams will receive exciting prizes and all participants will receive gifts • افضل ثلاثة فرق سيتم تكريمهم بجوائز قيمة *Judges are a panel made up of selected teachers, professors and technical leaders from Schools, Universities and Industry in the UAE

IT Showcase: Project Ideas • مواقع الكترونية • وسائل تعليم تفاعلية • مشاريع عن التراث الاماراتي • تجارب بحثية مختبرية • وسائل تصميم مخططات • انظمة مدرسية • انظمة اخرى • School or class websites • Interactive learning tools • Cultural information systems • Technology experiments • Computer-based graphical design • School systems (timetabling etc.) • Others

IT Showcase Theme In addition to the normal prizes that are provided to the top projects in ALL IT related area, this year, IT Showcase is including an additional prize, which will be awarded to a qualified project that reflects the theme of “Technology for Education”. وإضافة إلى الجوائز المعتادة التي يتم توزيعها على الفائزين في عرض المشاريع كل عام ، ستكون هناك جائزة خاصة لتكريم المشروع المؤهل الذي يعبر عن موضوع الماراثون هذا العام "التكنولوجيا والتعليم"

IT Showcase Rules • Entrants must be High School or elementary students • يحق لطلاب المراحل الاعدادية و الثانوية المشاركة في المشاريع • Open to teams (max.3 persons) or individuals • يحق للمدرسة المشاركة بفريق واحد مكون من 3 طلاب على الاكثر • Entrants must produce a poster for display throughout the Marathon • يجب تقديم ملصق عن المشروع في يوم الماراثون • Entrants must present their project to judges in sessions • ستقوم الفرق بعرض مشاريعها امام لجان التحكيم • Selected finalists must publicly present their project in final round • المشاريع المتأهلة ستقوم بعرض مشاريعها امام لجنة حكام نهائية • Judges decisions are final

  19. Contest Problems • البرمجة • تصميم المواقع • معلومات عامة • المخططات • امن المعلومات The contest problems are divided into: • Programming • Website Development • Knowledge of Computers • Animation and Graphics • Computer Security

Event Structure • Each team has exactly three students • Two sessions (2 hours each) • Web design + Programming + graphics • General computer knowledge + Computer Security • A lunch break separates the two sessions • Can use any of the high level language such as Visual Basic, C++, C or Java*. • No external material is allowed (books, manuals, etc.) * Please see the website for updated list of software • كل فريق مكون من 3 طلاب • المسابقة من مرحلتين (ساعتين لكل مرحلة) • تصميم , برمجة, مخططات • معلومات عامة في الحاسوب و امن المعلومات • يفصل الغداء المرحلتين • سيتم تزويد الفرق بكمبيوتر مجهز بلغات: C/C++,Java, Visual Basic • لا يسمح بادخال الكتب او اي مصادر معلومات اخرى

IT 4 Special Needs • IT 4 Special Needs Kids (grade 1-6) • An opportunity to allow kids with disabilities to present their projects developed using the scratch tool. • IT Showcase 4 Special Needs (grade 5-12) • Aims at giving the opportunity to the students to show and present their IT projects. • An IT project can be a software or hardware product developed with any tool.

Awards • The top three team winners of each competition will be announced and awards will be given in order to recognize them • Very Valuable prizes • An additional prize to the best project related to the theme. • All participants receive participation certificates as well as a participation certificate for the school itself

  24. About Last Year IT Marathon • More than 50 Schools • More than 300 Students • 10 teams participated in IT4Kids • 30 teams participated in IT Showcase • 36 teams participated in the IT Contest • 6 special needs teams
