Educational and teaching objectives • To stimulate interest in knowing about the environment, the local area and intercultural relations. • To create the space and conditions required for creativity, encouraging the joy of spending time together. • To become familiar with and make use of, information technology.

Scientific projects • *Knowledge of our territory and environment* Collaboration with our local forestry commission, discovering wildlife and plants(our school is situated near a very large protected forest called “Gran Bosco”)There has recently been reintroduced the wolf to this area to stabilize the wildlife. *Hydroelectric energy: there is a new power station on the river near our school *The study of astronomy • *Acquiring ethical and moral opinions from biological research • *Science clubs with laboratories: logical and mathematic games; the scientific study of sound by music instruments; chess • Scientific activities in a foreign language, visits to foreigner scientific museums.

Humanitarian projects Making the most of our differences: • Interdisciplinary work on the global economy; reading daily newspapers in class • Globalisation and human rights studies • Study of intercultural geography for the students studying languages • Cultural exchanges with schools worldwide

Languages how? • The European Linguistic school: • Development of French and History • The path to a recognised High School Diploma • Links with French Cultural Centre activity • Twinning with French schools • Short courses in Spanish • Studying towards recognised language qualifications (English, French and German) • Showing foreign language films.

  11. Languages for... • Individual exchanges (from 5 days to 1 school year) for students in France or Germany with our partner schools. • Languages trips (Wien, Madrid, Norwich), class exchanges, and language material swaps.

Snow school project • Sport School classes and special attention for student athletes • Voluntary work experience at the World Cup Winter Sport finals and the 2006 Olympic Winter Games · Winter sports familiarisation courses in collaboration with local Ski Schools · School trips to go hiking, climbing, cross-country skiing and snow trekking

  17. Actions FIRST YEAR • Corrispondence activity via email between the students and the teachers • Work at a brochure containing some information about the two countries

  18. Actions • SECOND YEAR • Depth study of at least one of the topics already dealt with in the brochure • Convert the brochure into poster for itinerant exhibition • Cultural exchanges of delegations of the schools
