Each year, around this time, a flurry of activity is generated with students applying for various undergraduate programs. Career choices, although defined for most by the time they reach the 12th grade, for some, a lot is dependent on grades, board results, entrance exams and of course peer pressure. Like the Oscars, this quickly becomes the center of all attention, only to be swiftly forgotten untill the next year. As we envisage India at the center of the globalized world, urban India is confronted with challenges of both old and newer cities. Architectural and Urban Education hence plays a pivotal role in rethinking and shaping the Indian built environment to be more glo-cal yet adaptive. As the young architecture aspirant thinks about the nature of our cities, it is crucial to be confronted with the relevant education environment.
