Earth Day is celebrated yearly on April 22nd by people around the world. • It’s a day to reflect on our relationship with the planet and take action to protect the • environment. • Earth Day began in 1970 as a way to raise awareness about pollution and other • environmental issues, and since then it has grown into a global movement.

Reducing our Carbon Footprint • As we mark Earth Day 2023, it’s clear that the state of our planet is more urgent than ever before. • Climate change, deforestation, and plastic pollution are just a few of the challenges that we face. • But while the problems may seem overwhelming, there are many actions that we can take to make a positive difference.

  4. One of the most important things that we can do is to reduce our carbon footprint. This means cutting back on our use of fossil fuels, which are the main contributor to climate change. • We can do this by driving less, using public transportation, and choosing energy-efficient appliances and light bulbs. • We can also switch to renewable energy sources, such as solar or wind power.

  5. ReducingWaste • Another way to protect the planet is to reduce our waste. • We can do this by recycling, composting, and using reusable bags and containers instead of disposable ones. • We can also reduce our consumption of single-use plastics, such as straws and water bottles.
