Oina is the base for baseball, being borrowed from the period not evolved enough. Compared to the contemporary period oina is an extremely complex game. Everywhere Romanians live or have lived in Greece to Poland and the Pannonian plain to beyond the Dnieper, have played various versions of oina. Practiced, outdoors and on the beach, having for a time a female version, oina was imposed gradually, getting to be declared the national sport of the Romans.
