HOMEWORK • Students are expected to read every night • Content specialists will offer evening workshops throughout the year to provide activity and enrichment ideas for families to use at home
School Supplies • If you would like to donate school supplies, we welcome them! • The school will order any additional supplies that classrooms and students need. -Ear buds would be wonderful!
Returning Student Work -All 5th graders have a “take home folder” -All 5th graders will have a mailbox in their classroom to store returned papers -The expectation is that students clean out their mailboxes every Friday to bring work home! -Don’t forget to check Google Classroom :)
School breakfast • Like last year, breakfast is delivered to individual classrooms before the start of the school day • It is available for any students who would like to eat breakfast at school • Breakfast costs $1.70 • Students who receive free and reduced lunch eat breakfast at no cost
Our why... All children deserve to be challenged and valued. We believe all children should learn how to be creative, critical thinkers, who collaborate and communicate. Our goal is to foster students’ deeper learning through a personalized learning environment where the opportunity gap is eliminated.

STEM Block 115 minutes • Whole group math instruction • STEM stations (PBL, inquiry, digital) • Teacher small group is parallel to stations based on student needs • Whole group science instruction • Wrap up/ exit ticket

Outdoor Lab! Overnight field trip to enhance the science curriculum. • Students sleep in tents • Day Trip option available • All meals provided except lunch on day 1 ($10 covers the cost) • Chaperones allowed based on space availability, but parents can bring their own tents if tents get filled • Volunteer form MUST be completed at least two weeks prior to the trip. Sanguino, Lansman & Levenberry / Monday-Tuesday October 15 & 16 Gallion, Tem & Casalengo / Thursday-Friday October 18 & 19
Volunteering -We will be doing Team Room Parents -Volunteers are needed for the Outdoor Lab overnight -New volunteers must submit the Volunteer Application and Disclosure forms to the office -Volunteers returning from last year need to verify your address and re-sign a paper in the front office -An online Safe School training will follow Questions?
