  2. TABLE OF CONTENTS • Question • Hypothesis • Materials • Methods • Observations • Result Analysis

  3. QUESTION What factors affect how quickly a solute dissolves in a solvent? HYPOTHESIS __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

  4. MATERIALS: • Glass beakers or clear plastic cups • Safety goggles • Hot and Cold water • Sugar powdered • Sugar cube • Thermometers • Stop watch

  5. Procedures: Step 1:take a temperature of cold water and record it Step 2: add powdered sugar and mix it and record the time it takes to dissolve Step 3:in other cup add sugar cube and mix it by stirring with spoon and record the time in your observation table Step 4: take temperature of hot water and record it Step 5:powder sugar to the hot water and record time on your stop watch Step 6:in other cup add sugar cube to the hot water and record the time of dissolving Step 7: make sure to record your observations in the observation chart

  6. Result Analysis: • Analyse your results by answering these questions • List three factors that affect how quickly a solute dissolves in a solvent • What effect does each of these factors have? • When testing the effect of stirring on dissolving, what was your independent variable • Explain how you controlled other variable • Use particle theory to explain how each factors affects dissolving. • Include sketch in your answer. • ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
