GCM – Data Strategy • Goals of data strategy • Ensure data is visible, available, useable, – when and where needed • Tag to enable discovery • Post to shared spaces in a secure environment • Accomplish this through a Community of Interest (CIO) • “Collaborative group of users who must exchange information in pursuit of shared goals, interests, missions or business processes and therefore must have shared vocabulary for the information exchanges.” • NNWC pursued the establishment of a COI • OSD NII classes – 2 day • Targeted cross organization participation • NNWC sponsored COI Pilot • Active group – weekly meetings • Lead CIO Services (NNWC CIO2) 5

Summary DoN’s NETWARCOM is aggressively working a consolidated effort to develop a single data store to align with DoDI 8410.02 – NetOps-related data shall be shared and exchanged through common interoperable standards in accordance with DoD net-centric data strategy (GCM and GNA) DoN’s NETWARCOM is actively engaged with DISA to transform its access to data network and communications information and network enterprise into a leaner and more agile environment to meet emerging operational needs (GCM and GEM) 11
