  1. What are the responsibilities of the Board? • Promote programs of Christian nurture according to the needs of your local congregation • Organize and administer educational ministries: Sunday School, CYF, YA, Vacation Bible School,Training classes for new members, Continuing education classes for officers, boards and auxiliaries, Bible Studies etc. • Programs on the history doctrine and polity of the CME Church

Responsibilities (page 3) • Be sure materials used are approved by the General Department of Christian Education • See that there are ministries for all ages • Children (Ages 1-11), Youth (12-17), Young Adults (18-35), Adults (36 and Above) • See that youth and young adult week is celebrated (last Sunday in January, ending first Sunday in February)

  3. Page 4 • Prepare an appropriate budget for the department • Upon the recommendation of the pastor, may fill any office that becomes vacant; have the authority to remove for cause any officer or other person to whom the Board has given responsibility
