  1. ROAA The Rescue Organization of Abused Animals

  2. The Facts About Animal Cruelty • The “2003” report is based on information from 1,373 animal cruelty cases involving at least 1,682 perpetrators. • Of the animal cruelty cases in the report, 784 (57%) involved intentional cruelty toward animals and 589 (43%) involved extreme animal neglect.

  3. Adult and teenage males commit a high percentage of intentional animal cruelty. Hanging is the most common offense committed by females. Males are significantly more often the perpetrators when animal cruelty occurs in connection with family violence. Shooting is the most common form of intentional cruelty. Companion animals are the most common victims of animal cruelty, though cruelty to cats is not reported as frequently as cruelty to dogs. Males have a higher percentage of involvement in animal neglect than females, but the gender gap is much more significant with regard to intentional cruelty.

  4. Dog Fighting • Organized dog-fighting is illegal everywhere in the United States and is a felony in 48 states. • In organized dog fighting, two dogs, usually pit bulls, fight until one or both can't continue. • The dogs suffer serious injuries or death in the match. • Often, the owner of the losing dog will shoot or abandon the injured dog to die slowly from injuries.

  5. Cock Fighting • Cockfighting is a cruel blood sport that pits two roosters against each other. • Spectators place bets, and the fight ends after one or both roosters die. • Cockfighting is illegal in all states, and it is a felony in 45 states

  6. Hog-Dog Fighting • In a hog-dog fight or "hog-dog rodeo," a trained dog attacks a trapped feral hog who is released into an enclosed pit from which there is no escape. • To confer an advantage on the dog, fight organizers will either cut off the hog's tusks or outfit the dog in a Kevlar vest. • While the crowd cheers, the dog is timed to see how quickly he can pin down the hog by tearing into the hog's snout, ears and eyes.

  8. Advantages Of Saving Animals • We will never have to see this again. • People will not have any more animals to abuse if we can try our best to save them all. • If you can figure out what this is you tell me.

  9. What We Do To Help • We go out into the streets or alleys or maybe even to peoples homes if they are reported and rescue animals, bring them into our facility and take care of them or repair them until they are to natural health. • After they are healed or “Back to Normal” they will be sent out to better homes rather than what they started with. • We recommend you send out reports to our organization if you see any animal abuse or neglect around your general area we cover mostly the whole United States.

  10. What You Can Do To Help • Report about animal abuse or neglect to one of our facilities. • Write the abuser a anonymous strong worded letter about what they are doing and that it is wrong. • Write an article of what is being done in your general area but do not leave any names or pictures and post them up around your neighborhood. • Get a petition started around your neighborhood to get the person kicked out of your surroundings. • What ever you do it will help and if you send it in the pet will be brought in and the owner will go to jail.

  11. General Information • Our hot line or emergency number is 1-800-965-4595 (not a real number). • We got started and were inspired by our family members and all the animals we have seen being aused or neglected throughout the U.S. All of our family pitched in some money to help build the first building which is located in Wilmington, Delaware. • We all love our jobs and we hope you do what you can to help the environment and your fellow animals.
