The Defence Export Unit Purpose A strong Australian defence industry sector is an important strategic component of Australia’s national Defence capability The Defence Export Unit was created with the role of enhancing the Australian defence industry sector exports of defence and security related goods and services through the reinforcement of a whole-of-government approach to facilitating defence exports from Australia.

Progress to Date • Since establishment have assited companies achieve in excess of $300 million in Contracts • Through Team Australia a number of companies have received Orders as a result of participation • DEU currently supporting $500M of export opportunity • DEU support to SME to a number of countries • Support to specific missions – well focussed • Cooperation with other government areas and industry associations
