Data • 8547 individuals trained • 70 school training sites • 60 community sites (Centers of Youth and Families, Timothy Smith Network, Housing Authority, Public Libraries) • 70% of household incomes under $25K • Pre-survey 66% have access. • 1 year later 90% have access. • 44% say TGH helped them find a job or improved advancement opportunities in their current job • 50% speak a language other than English
What we learned: • Having the training in the neighborhood makes all the difference. • Word of mouth is more important than marketing. • New netbooks/tablets are a great choice. • It is very hard to sign up for Internet Essentials, most of our folks pay full price for access.
What we learned: • Helping folks see that they could save money with access is an important part of understanding the relevance of getting on line. • It is all about the relationships that are built.
