  2. Packet Tracer Packet Tracer is an interactive learning tool for Cisco Networking Academy instructors and students. It allows users to create network topologies, configure devices, inject packets, and simulate the network in multiple visual representations. Packet Tracer also allows users the ability to create guided activities through the use of the Activity Wizard

What is New to PT4.1? • Additional protocols modeled: HTTP, DNS, TFTP, Telnet, TCP, UDP, Single Area OSPF, DTP, VTP, and STP • Improved modelingof existing protocols: IP, Ethernet, ARP, wireless, CDP, Frame Relay, PPP, HDLC, interVLAN routing, and ICMP • Additional equipment: 2811 ISR router, 1841 ISR router, Linksys WRT300N, cable modems, DSL modems, and IP phones • Improved GUI: zoom view tools, edit functions (copy, paste, and undo), improved window management, and ability to show/hide link lights and device labels • More protocols to filter by are included in the Event List • Activity Wizard improvements: activity feedback, assess user-created PDUs, and Variable Manager

  13. How to Access PT4.1 PT 4.1 was officially released in parallel with the new CCNA Discovery and CCNA Exploration courses. PT4.1 is a standalone application.
