Our project involved creating an alarm clock with features like RTC time display on LCD, tune-playing piezo speaker, message display on LED matrix, and lamp activation with Relay Plug. We faced challenges with coding and component connections but improved through testing and fixing errors.

Our project • We created a alarm clock • We used an RTC connected to a LDC to display time • Buttons were added to set the time and stop the alarm • Coded the piezo speaker to play a tune • We also added a 8X8 LED matrix to display a message • Added a Relay Plug so when the alarm goes off the bad lamp switches on
What went Well • Soldering the RTC together and getting it to display time on the LCD • Wiring the RTC with the LCD and Buttons. • Making of the housing and painting it • Installing a relay in our plug, however we had by mistake soldered the wrong legs to the wire. This was discovered when testing the relay and was fixed straight away
What went bad • Coding for setting the alarm • Soldering the buttons as they were very fiddly • Making the cut out for the housing • We attempted to connect the 8X8 LED matrix together with our main board but had no luck
