Scan Tool and Reprogramming Matrices • We are still in the process of trying to simplify this procedure. Therefore, many of the matrices are out of date. • Special thanks to Jaguar, Land Rover, Kia, Subaru, Suzuki for turning in updated matrices using the current system. NASTF General Meeting Meeting
Scan Tool Information update • Received GM, Ford, Mazda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes, Kia and Hyundai information this summer. • Chrysler data has not been delivered yet. They now require a license and the details of the agreement have not been hammered out. • Most Japanese data will be updated in the first week of December (ETI Japan Tech Week) • J1699-2 has been formed to develop test software that will allow scan tool manufacturers to test their products against a standard. Reprogramming (J2534) Update • J2534 issues and possible solutions • New work has begun on the J2534-1 spec. There are issues that can’t be overlooked. Clarifications must be made. • J2534-3 is well underway. This committee is developing a document that can be used to test reprogramming applications for compliance. • EPA is working on the BMW alleged non-compliance issue. An answer should be coming soon.
