Jay Sawyer from Northbrook Explains why Horse Racing is Cruel

Jay Sawyer from Northbrook believes that horse racing is cruel as it exposes horse to a significant risk of injury and death through trauma or emergency euthanasia. Racing involves striking the horse with a whip which inflicts pain and can result in injury in order to enhance performance. The worst thing is that there is no limit the number of times horses can be slapped down the shoulder during a race. In many races, horses are forced into equipment that hurts them and in the main races, it is very common for the animals to be killed.
