  1. Borax Crystal Snowflake Craft In addition to the materials in the kit, you'll need a pencil and a 2-cup glass jar or measuring cup. Instructions: Twist the pipe cleaner pieces at the center to form a six-branched star. Tie the string to the tip of one branch of the star then to the middle of the pencil. The final length should allow the star to drop to the middle of the jar when the pencil is laid across the top of the jar. Working with an adult, boil 2 cups of water. Pour the boiling water into the jar. Add the Borax to the boiling water, one tablespoon at a time, stirring until it's dissolved before adding more. When all the Borax is dissolved, carefully place the star into the jar, laying the pencil across the top. Watch and wait! In about 24 hours, crystals should form on the star. Allow the crystals to develop as long as you'd like! Borax Crystal Snowflake Craft In addition to the materials in the kit, you'll need a pencil and a 2-cup glass jar or measuring cup.
