  1. School ph. # - 547-3440 Conference period - 1:00 – 1:45 easterd@ccisd.com Reading: Skills covered – characterization, summarization, fact and opinion, and predicting. Math: We will continue our unit on measurement. This week we will concentrate on elapsed time and review capacity with “Gigantic G”. Language Arts: Students will be reviewing run-on sentences and practice revising and editing compositions from the past. Science: We will be discussing the moon and its effects on Earth. Social Studies: We will begin our lesson on the Indian Wars. Vocabulary: There are no new vocabulary words for the week. We will focus on vocabulary words previously learned throughout the school year. Spelling Due to the short week there will not be a spelling list. I have put the spelling and vocabulary lists for next week into spellingcity.com if your child would like to get a jump start on next week’s spelling. Upcoming Events: Feb. 6 - 7 – No school – teacher workdays. Feb. 17 – Monday – School WILL be in session. It is our bad weather make-up day. Below is a list of students in our class for those of you who like to get a head start on Valentine cards.
