A RNG – Rede Nacional de Geofísica visa a implementação de uma infra-estrutura descentralizada (…)permitindo às instituições signatárias produzirem e distribuírem os dados por todos os potenciais utilizadores da comunidade científica, através da Internet, de forma a contribuir para o desenvolvimento e melhoria da investigação científica na área da Geofísica realizada em Portugal e promover a sua internacionalização. Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa IM – Instituto de Meteorologia, I.P IST – Instituto Superior Técnico UAzores – Universidade dos Açores UEvora - Universidade de Évora (…) É, assim, criada, por este protocolo, uma rede aberta de partilha de informação para fins científicos, no domínio da monitorização geofísica, entre as instituições participantes na rede, com o objectivo de apoiar a recolha de todos os dados relevantes, a geração e manutenção de séries e bases de dados correspondentes e a respectiva disponibilização à comunidade científica em geral. Para assegurar os objectivos propostos, a RNG deverá promover a elaboração de contratos-programa que assegurem, de forma sustentável, o necessário fluxo de financiamento. As Instituições signatárias deste Protocolo comprometem-se a partilhar a informação destinadaa ser utilizada pelas instituições participantes na RNG (…) This MOU creates therefore an open network for the sharing of information for scientific purposes ... to support the collection, production, maintaining of data time series, and its availability to the scientific community.
