  2. This temple is one of the most well-known and has the best architecture in the Angkor Thom temple complex. Takeo Temple was constructed in 977 by King Jayavarman V to worship the Hindu god Shiva. When the stones were properly arranged but not sculpted, the temple was struck by lightning and forced to come to a halt. When King Jayavarman V died unexpectedly, an internal war erupted to compete for the throne. The king was murdered by his uncle, Suryavarman I. Hemasringagiri, which means "Golden Peak Mountain," was the original name of this temple. Suryavarman I expanded the temple and renamed it Jagisvara Pandita in the early 11th century. Although Takeo Angkor temple is still under construction and has unfinished decorations, it is a particularly memorable point for tourists to visit.

Follow the path around to the right, and you'll see Takeo Temple on your left. Takeo Temple is located to the east of Angkor Thom, with all of the temples facing east and surrounded by two walls. The main entrance walkway is 50 meters long and has numerous

  4. columns on both sides. The main temple area is led up by stairs on all four sides; five towers are arranged in the corners; and the tallest temple in this complex is 21.6 m tall, 122 m long, and 106 m wide, including the base. The outer shell is a 255-meter-long moat that has been partially damaged. Source: @ratanasaphun The temple is constructed primarily of `Khmer sandstone in the ziggurat architectural style. The temple's construction appears to have come to an abrupt halt in the early stages of aesthetic creation. This can be seen in a small number of ongoing temple carvings. Although it is not particularly decorative, it is still interesting and well worth seeing on a holiday in Cambodia.

Source: @hiroshi_ohki This is an impressive temple with its outstanding height, so visitors can easily find it; however, many people are still concerned because Takeo Temple is built on a quite high structure and feels unsafe. However, this is an outstanding and unique architectural experience for both Cambodians and international tourists. There is dense forest surrounding the area. When you stand on the top of Takeo Temple, you can see the green tops in all directions.
