Welcome…. Printmaking Students! Throughout this 1 semester course (.5 credit), we will engage in the study of the following concepts: • Relief Printmaking • Linoleum Block • Printing onto Clay • Collagraph • Reduction Print – Linoleum • Photo Intaglio - Solar Etching • Color Mixing/ Color Theory • Principles of Design • Symbolism/Metaphor • Art History/Contemporary Art Studies • Reflective Writing & Discussion • Please be prepared to write about and discuss art concepts.
Relief printmaking • Simply means creating a relief (a surface that is set out from the background, in order to print the raised surface) For example; woodcut, linoleum block and collagraph.
