Establish School Based Data Culture Achieved by: • Demonstrating a strong belief in the ability of data to inform and prioritize instructional activity and influence decisions. • Establishing a clear vision for school wide data use and making data part of an ongoing cycle of instructional improvement. • Guiding educators in the effective use data to monitor students’ academic progress and evaluate instructional practices and instructional design. • Teaching students to examine their own data and set learning goals.

  3. DataConnect Foundation Project • The PowerSchool SIS replacement will act as foundation project in a phased approach of providing greater access to quality student data via NB DataConnect • Access to quality information will result in improved processes for prioritization, planning, management and accountability associated with the academic success of every student in our educational system. • Ability to focus of resources on priorities identified through access to relevant, timely and quality information will result in improved student achievement.

  4. Why Replace WinSchool? WinSchool : An aging, unsupported system PowerSchool: An Integrated enterprise web-based system • Pearson stopped supporting and upgrading WinSchool in July 2012 • WinSchool is a school based system with 320+ databases • Limited functional flexibility, no web based access • Growing number of workarounds • Able to provide web-based access for administrators, teachers, parents and students • Pearson will continue the WinSchool support until the end of the implementation and there no charge for licenses because we own WinSchool licenses.
