  3. Early Registration • Early Registration for veterans begins on March 29, 2013 at 12:01 a.m. for the Summer/Fall terms. You do not have to register at that time, you can register anytime on March 29th or after. Check Raidernet prior to March 29th for any holds and take care of any outstanding requirements as to not delay your registration.

  4. Important Vet Tab Dates • Summer SOU & EC – Avail Mar 29th • Summer Defer & Conf Avail Apr 29th • Summer Purge 1 – May 15 • Fall SOU & EC – Avail June 3rd • Fall Defer & Conf Avail July 24th • Fall Purge 1 – Aug 20

Vet Tab Process • The Veterans Tab will be available on Raidernet beginning March 29th for you to complete/submit your Statement of Understanding and Enrollment Certification for the Summer term. Please ensure that you have your schedule complete prior to submitting these forms to us as we will begin sending certifications to the VA Regional Office for the Summer 2013 term shortly after receiving your forms.

  7. Vet Tab Process • Statement of Understanding (Required) • Enrollment Certification (Required) • Must be accomplished for each semester that you want to use your G.I. Bill Benefits. • This is your way of notifying us that you want to be certified. • Must submit both “Statement of Understanding” and “Enrollment Certification” to start the certification process.

Vet Tab Process • Benefits Deferment (Optional) • Defers tuition & fee balance so that you can confirm your classes. • Does not defer any other charges on your account (i.e. parking tickets, meal plan, late fees, etc) • Any other charges on your account must be paid in full prior to being allowed to confirm classes • Housing deferments are only available for Chapter 33 students who are residing on campus. • Financial aid (loans & grant money) will be applied to your charges before a deferment is processed. • If you have enough financial aid to cover expenses, a deferment will not be available.

Vet Tab Process • Benefits Deferment (Optional) • A hold will be placed on your account until your account is paid in full. • After classes begin you will see the amount due on your account. • You will continue to receive computer generated e-mails regarding your balance. • Once the VA pays the school you may get a refund from MTSU.

Vet Tab Process • Confirm Classes (Required) • Must confirm prior to the fee deadline date or your classes will be purged. • Fee deadline date for Summer is May 15, 2013. • Must be accomplished by all students. • Upon successful confirmation you will receive a 6 character confirmation code similar to (EF84DY). Write your confirmation number down and keep it. • We send out email notifications to those students who are identified as not yet confirmed. • If you receive an email from our office stating you are not confirmed, “YOU ARE NOT CONFIRMED!” • Last resort, we attempt to contact the student by phone.

  11. Book Stipend for Ch 33 If you attended school during the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 terms and received a book stipend (capped at $1000.00), you will not receive a book stipend for the summer term.

  12. Adding/Dropping Classes • Let us know of any changes to your schedule immediately. • All changes must be reported to the VA. • Any change to your schedule may affect you financially. • Before you drop any class check the fee adjustment deadline in the Summer Registration Guide.

  13. Payment Issues? Once we have submitted your certification to the VA (regardless of chapter), any pay issues must be handled through the St. Louis Regional Office. They can be contacted at 1-888-442-4551 or at www.gibill.va.gov “Submit a Question” link.

Help Us Help You • Keep your contact information up-to-date. • Not only with MTSU, but with the VA as well. • Check your MTSU email account regularly. • Especially before a purge. • Please respond to our requests as quickly as possible. • Avoid delayed payments • Submit your vet tab paper work early. • Submit both “Statement of Understanding” and “Enrollment Certification.” • If at all possible, don’t make changes your schedule. Each time you make a change it may delay your monthly payments. • Notify us of any changes to your schedule right away.

  18. Scenario 1 • Registered for Full Term ( May 20 – Aug 16) • Two classes actually go from 5/20 – 8/16 • One class is a “Special Dates class that goes from 5/20 – 7/19 • So you go from full time BAH 5/20 – 7/19, then drop to half time BAH from 7/20 – 8/16

  19. Scenario 2 • Registered for S-1 May term (5/20-6/7) • 3 hrs. on campus – Full time • Registered for S-2 Jun term (6/10-7/12) • 3 hrs. online – 50% BAH • Registered for S-4 Jun/Jul term (6/10-8/16) • 3 hrs. on campus or online – No BAH

Scenario 3 • Registered for S-1 May term (5/20-6/7) • 3 hrs. on campus AND • Registered for S-2 June term (6/10-7/12) • 3 hrs. on campus AND • Registered for S-3 July term (7/15 – 8/16) • 3 hrs. on campus AND • Registered for S-4 Jun/Jul term (6/10-8/16) • 3 hrs. on campus or online • Considered Full time

  21. Scenario 4 • Registered for S-4 Jun/Jul term (6/10-8/16) • 3 hrs. on campus / 4 hrs. online • Considered to be full time
